Conversion Goals
For information on creating and understanding Conversion Goals, please see our separate documentation here.
The first thing you probably want to know when you send a campaign is how many people the campaign was sent to and how many people opened it. Pulsate displays a number of stats so that you can see at a glance how successful your campaign has been. The purpose of this guide is to outline what each of those statistics is based on so that you get a better understanding of how your Pulsate campaigns are performing.
How to Access Campaign Stats
To access the campaign stats, you have two options.
- To access the Campaign Stats page by clicking on the Campaign Stats link when you are in the Engage product. This will bring you to a link of the Engage Stats for all of your campaigns and from here you can dive deeper into individual campaigns by pressing View Reports.
Campaign Sends
The first thing you need to know is how many times your campaign has been sent so Pulsate includes the following Send Stats:
Name | Description |
---|---|
Total Campaign Sends | The total amount of times the campaign has been sent to users. Please note that in the case of recurring campaigns, users may be sent the campaign multiple times so the amount of times the campaign has been sent may be higher than the total number of users that have received the campaign. |
Unique Campaign Sends | The unique number of times that a campaign has been sent to users. As this stat is unique, only one send per user is recorded. |
Direct Opens
Pulsate records two main open rate stats, Direct Opens and Combined Opens. See below for more info on Combined Opens.
A Direct Open is recorded any time a campaign is opened directly from a push notification or in app notification. The following stats are available in the Direct Opens section:
Name | Description |
---|---|
Total Direct Opens | The total number of times that a campaign has been opened directly from a push notification or in app notification. If, as may be the case with recurring campaigns, a user receives the campaign more than once, they may record multiple direct opens. |
Total Direct Open Rate | The percentage of users who have received the campaign and recorded a Total Direct Open. |
Unique Direct Opens | The number of unique times that a user has opened a campaign directly from the push notification or in app notification. |
Unique Direct Open Rate | The percentage of unique users who have received a campaign and also recorded a Unique Direct Open. |
Please note that if you are using a version of the Pulsate SDK before version 2.7.4 on Android or 2.5.5 on iOS, a direct open will also be recorded if a user clicks on the Call to Action button on the front of a card in the Pulsate Message Center.
Combined Opens
Of course no matter how well you craft your push notification or in app notification, not every user who views your campaign will open it directly from a push or in app notification. For this reason, Pulsate also records the Combined Open Rate for every campaign. This stat combines users who have opened the campaign directly from a notification with users who opened your app and viewed the campaign without clicking on a push or in app notification.
Every time a card is rendered on a user's screen with each app session, we record that as a card impression. These impressions are combined with Total Direct Opens to give us the Combined Open Rate stat. The following stats are available in the Combined Opens section:
Name | Description |
---|---|
Total Combined Opens | The total amount of times that a user has either opened a campaign directly from a notification or viewed the campaign on their screen and recorded a campaign impression. |
Total Combined Open Rate | The percentage of total users who have received the campaign and also recorded either a Direct Open or have viewed the campaign on their screen and recorded a campaign impression |
Unique Combined Opens | The unique amount of times that a user has recorded a Direct Open or that they have viewed the campaign on their screen and recorded a campaign impression. |
Unique Combined Open Rate | The percentage of unique users who have also recorded a Unique Combined Open. |
