Using Your SFTP Credentials

Once your access request has been processed, you will receive your SFTP credentials, which include a username and a password or a private key, depending on the method you choose for authentication.

Logging In to the SFTP Repository

Follow these steps to securely log in to the SFTP repository:

  1. Launch an SFTP Client: Open your preferred SFTP client software on your computer.
  2. Enter Host Details: Type the provided SFTP server address into the host field.
  3. Enter Your Credentials: Input your username and either your password or private key, depending on the provided credentials.
  4. Initiate Connection: Click the connect or login button on your SFTP client to establish a secure connection to the server.

Please note that your credentials are sensitive information. Never share them with unauthorized individuals and avoid transmitting them through insecure channels.

AWS S3 Storage and Connectivity Considerations

Our SFTP service is backed by AWS S3 storage, ensuring high reliability and scalability. However, it is important to ensure that your network settings allow connections to AWS services.

Network Configuration

Verify the following to ensure a successful connection:

  • Your firewall is configured to allow outgoing connections to AWS S3 endpoints.
  • There are no network policies or ISP restrictions blocking access to AWS services.
  • If required, set up a VPN or a Direct Connect to AWS to ensure a stable and secure connection.

By following the above steps, you should be able to successfully apply for and use your SFTP access credentials to transfer your data securely to the Pulsate Data Ingestion Service. If you encounter any issues or have any questions regarding the authentication process, please do not hesitate to contact [email protected] or reach out to your Customer Success Manager for further assistance.
