Configuration

The Pulsate Data Ingestion Service is designed to be efficient and responsive, allowing for near-real-time data processing. By default, the service automatically processes SFTP files as soon as they are uploaded. This section outlines the default behavior, quiet hours configuration, and how to request configuration changes.

Default Processing Behavior

Upon successful upload of your data files to the SFTP server, Pulsate will:

  1. Read the data from the uploaded file.
  2. Store the relevant data in our database.
  3. Update user segments if the data affects segmentation criteria.
  4. Potentially trigger the delivery of campaigns or journeys if users enter or exit segments as a result of the data update.

This automatic processing ensures that your Campaigns and Journeys remain timely and relevant based on the most current data.

Quiet Hours

To respect the user experience and ensure that communications are received at appropriate times, Pulsate has established default quiet hours:

Quiet Hours: 10 PM EST to 10 AM EST

During these hours, automated Campaign or Journey triggers resulting from data processing are suppressed. This means that if a user qualifies for a campaign due to data updates during quiet hours, the actual delivery of the campaign will be deferred until the end of the quiet period.

Custom Configuration

While the default settings are suitable for many use cases, we understand that you may have unique operational requirements or marketing strategies that necessitate different configuration settings. For example, you may want to:

  • Adjust the quiet hours to better suit the geographical locations and behavior patterns of your user base.
  • Configure specific processing windows to align with your marketing calendar.
  • Set up special handling for certain types of data updates or segments.

As of now, such configurations cannot be adjusted directly via the console. However, our team is available to assist with customizing these settings to match your needs.

How to Request Configuration Changes

To request any changes to the default configuration, please follow one of these methods:
